Can I purchase extra images?

If you would like to add more images than your membership allows you, additional images may be purchased for $15 per image, up to a total of 20 images. You can purchase extra images online here. You can also pay for them by credit card or check by printing out and mailing the Payment Form.

Additionally, you get to add or change images for free each time you renew your membership! Check above to see how many free images come with your membership type each year. The ability to post these images expires when your membership does, however. They do not "roll over" from year to year.

How do I register a new Portfolio/Directory listing?

Step 1: Create a Portfolio/Directory Account

If you are a member, using our online login form, click "Create New Account" and enter your member number, zip code (where your magazine is mailed), e-mail address and create your password. If your membership is current, an account will be created and you will be directed to your 'Member Home' page.

If you are not a member and wish to create a Directory Listing, click here to create a directory listing account.

Step 2: Register your Portfolio/Directory Listing

After you have logged in, click on Create/Edit Portfolio/Directory Listing and choose the approprate listing type. Fill out the registration form by adding the information you would like to include on your Portfolio/Directory Listing. The registration form has fields for all of your contact information, as well as a "long bio" section which sculptors are free to use for your resume, CV, biography, or artist statement. If you have any questions on how to complete the registration form, please write to portfolio@sculpture.org.

Step 3: Upload your Images

See below for more information on formatting and uploading images.

How should my images be formatted for the website?

Image requirements:

1) Images should be formatted as
jpegs.
2) The Portfolio and Directory database will only accept images under 65k in size. (Learn how to resize your images in the questions below.)
3) Digital Images should be 72 pixels/inch with image size not exceeding 500 pixels in width or height.
4) Images will not be enlarged, as this will degrade their quality.
5) Images that are very tall and thin or very long and narrow may need to be cropped by the ISC.

My images won't upload. What's the problem?

For space reasons and in order to allow those browsing our site with slower internet connections to see your images quickly, each image must be under 65k. To learn how to resize and save images for the internet, please take a look at the tutorial included further down this page.

Images must also be in jpeg format and in RGB color to be uploaded to your Portfolio page.

How do I resize my images so that they meet the size restrictions without becoming tiny?

Images can be edited using a free web based application Picnik.com (no download required) see instructions, or by using Photoshop (purchase and installation required to use Photoshop). Instructions on how to resize for both are below.

Resizing images using Photoshop.
- Open each image in Photoshop
- Go to Image > Image Size

- Make the sure the quality is set to 72 dpi and not higher
- Set the largest dimension to 450 pixels, and click "OK"

Save your images:
- Go to File > Save for Web

-

- Make sure JPEG is selected under settings and not gif

- When using the setting called “JPEG Medium,” you should
notice the image size falls to less than 50k by checking the bottom left corner of the “Save for Web” screen.  You can then click “save” to finish.

- Save a copy of image to your desktop and upload it to your Portfolio page.

Resizing your images using ipiccy.com.

To edit your images via the web go to www.ipiccy.com.

  • Select “Start Editing” button
  • Then select “Upload a photo”
  • Locate the image you will like to upload from your hard drive. Select “ok”

Make sure “constrain proportions” is checked.

  • Change the Width (px) or the Height (px) to 500. Rule of thumb is to change the largest demension of your photo to 500. The 2nd box will be filled in automatically (only if the “keep proportions” box is checked). Click apply

Saving your image:

  • Click on the “Save” icon at the top of the screen
  • Change filename to name of your choice
  • Format should be JPG
  • You can drag and select your quality percentage so that your image is under 65kb
  • Click “Save Photo!”
  • Choose where you would like to save on your computer, then click “Save”

And you’re done! You should now be able to successfully upload your images.

I submitted my application but my Portfolio page or Directory Listing isn't on the website yet. Did you receive it?

Once we receive your information, ISC staff need a bit of time to finalize your page. We create thumbnails of your images for our special display pages. If you're a sculptor, we also create a second page with a URL for you to give out to your contacts; the format is:

www.sculpture.org/YourName

We reserve six weeks to finalize Portfolio and Directory applications, but we typically get them posted much faster. We will email you a link to your page as soon as it is complete. If we are missing a part of your Portfolio application, we'll email you and let you know.

How long do I have to complete my application?

For space reasons, Portfolio and Directory applications must be completed within three months. We'll typically email you to alert you of your deadline. If three months go by and we have to remove your application, you can start over at any time. Just follow the instructions for registering a new Portfolio or Directory listing.

I need to make changes to an existing Portfolio or Directory listing. Can I email those to you?

The website allows you to edit your own Portfolio or Directory listing from your home computer! No need to email it to us anymore. You may update or change the text on your listing at any time by logging in with your e-mail address and password. You can also upload new images, but keep in mind that ISC staff needs some time to process them and they will not be immediately visible on your page.

Follow these directions to log in:
-Visit our Portfolio/Directory login page or click on 'Member Login'.
-If you know your personal password, enter it with your email address at the top of the screen.
-If you don't know your password, click "can't remember your password?" to have it emailed to you. Then return to the login screen and follow the above step.

Each time you renew your membership, you are allowed to change or add sculptures free of charge (up to a maximum of 20 images). Check your membership type to determine how many images you can update or add for free each year.

My Portfolio or Directory listing is not on the website anymore. What happened?

If your ISC membership lapsed, we may have hidden your page while we awaited your renewal. If you've renewed and your page isn't back up yet, just send us an email and remind us!

I can't log into my Portfolio/Directory page to make changes. Help!

If your Portfolio or Directory listing is registered under an email address that no longer exists, please email us so we can correct your information.

If the website is telling you that your membership has lapsed, please call the membership department to renew your membership at 609.689.1051 ext. 301. If you receive any other type of error you do not understand, please email us..

The ISC reserves the right to decline to post materials that are deemed inappropriate or factually incorrect.
