Artist Statement

My sculptures and installations explore the actions of the self within a social structure. Domestic artifacts and constructed fragments of the body provide a familiar entry into physical manifestations of internal realities—consciousness and inner dialogue. As strategies of presentation, binding, swaddling, encapsulating, filling, coating, spilling, and draining describe how we contend with estrangement, absence, and loss.
