Black pipe, screw jack, pillows, existing architecture
I use the campsite as a model for works that reenact
the making of a place. Employing sculpture,
photography, and architectural intervention,
I address the contradictory nature of these sites
and the role played by the body in activating
them. Combining ready-made forms and selfmade
scaffolding in a “garage” aesthetic, my
works are defined by a tension that suggests a
risk of collapse. Equally, they could be disassembled,
reconfigured, or packed at any moment.
Either way, they are ready for constant departure.
