Fletcher Benton (born 1931) graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1956. From 1964 to 1967, he taught at the San Francisco Art Institute as an associate professor, and from 1967-1986 he was a professor of art at San Jose State University. He is known for his kinetic sculptures of movement, but he began his career as an abstract painter in the 1950s. |
