Frederick Hart was an American sculptor born June 7, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was best known for his public monuments and works of art in bronze, marble, and clear acrylic. Hart gained international stature for “The Creation Sculptures” on the Washington National Cathedral and his heroic bronze statue “The Three Soldiers” for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Hart pioneered the use of clear acrylic resin to create cast figurative sculptures, which he described as sculpting with light.
