Richard Hunt (born 1935) is best known for his abstract metal sculptures and public artwork. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and began to exhibit his sculpture in art fairs, galleries, and other public arenas. He was the youngest artist to exhibit at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair, and was the first African-American artist to have a major solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1971.
