Join Franconia Sculpture Park on April 25, 2020 to celebrate International Sculpture Day. This year’s focus is on the symbiotic relationship between contemporary sculpture and nature. Throughout 2020, Franconia is inviting land artists to collaborate with the distinct space and environment of the park. This comprehensive Art & Ecology Initiative kicks off on International Sculpture Day, with site-specific interventions in the landscape and built environment of Franconia by Chicago-based artist Alberto Aguilar. Aguilar holds a BFA and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and will be giving walking tours of his interventions throughout the day on the 25th. In addition to Aguilar’s tours, Franconia’s Artists-in-Residence will be on site discussing their artistic practice and giving hands-on demos to visitors.
We look forward to celebrating art and ecology on International Sculpture Day!
