Bronze Pour, Open Gallery, and Life Casting @ Adams State University -Colorado

April 24, 2016 @ 12:00 am - 4:00 pm

| Free

We welcome all to enjoy us for a fine evening of sculpture! Our foundry at Adams State University will be opening up the doors to the public for a bronze pour. Multiple students and professors are participating in the pour through the lost-wax casting process, which will be open for display within our studio space. Previous works from students @ ASU will be shown, including a variety of bronze and iron pieces that were poured in the past few months.
We will be demonstrating on how to life cast from the body through a community based project towards the advancement of our university in Southern Colorado; our demonstration will show as an example on how to cast in plaster by using algae safe molds. We will be creating a strong phrase in correlation with the school’s hispanic heritage by creating sign language with our hands. A true hands on experience! Our gallery will also be open to view our MA Thesis sculpture exhibition by graduate artist Kristina Adams.
