Skoto Gallery is pleased to present Contrasts, a selection of New Sculptures and Drawings by the American-born artist Katherine Taylor. This is the second solo exhibition by the artist at the gallery. The reception is on Thursday, September 8th, 6-8 pm.
In Contrasts, Taylor continues her explorations of textures and patterns found in nature as the jumping off point for her creative process. A mold of a gum tree made in Tasmania becomes the feathers of ‘Bird'; bark bored by beetles are the sleek coat of ‘Cat’; and a tree knot found in Sweden can be attributed to ‘Lagarto’s’ foreboding glare.
