The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo, Colorado will host a pop-up sculpture made of found and donated lamps and lighting objects contributed from the community. Our professional staff will then assemble the structure which will remain standing for about a week.
On the day of assemblage, we will have a “lighting party” in the evening with food trucks, music, and reception starting at 6:30 pm. We plan to work with Pueblo’s Creative Corridor during the day of the assembly to hold a scavenger hunt of existing sculptures within our community.
The Arts Center will host a companion exhibition, Sculpture from the Permanent Collection, which will be on display in the Hoag Gallery from March 12 – May 8, 2016.
