Built in 1758 by the Colony of New Jersey during the French and Indian War, the Old Barracks was a witness in 1776 to the Battle of Trenton, the turning point of the American Revolution. Today, the Old Barracks serves as an educational center for Colonial and American history, and stands as the last remaining structure of its kind. The Old Barracks staff provides daily tours and interpretations of American colonial life.

The Trenton City Museum houses a fine collection of art and artifacts related to Trenton's historical and cultural past and present. It hosts a collection of tableware, sanitary ware and artware produced in the 19th and 20th centuries by Trenton's prolific ceramics industry, as well as a fascinating collection of fine arts, decorative arts, industrial memorabilia and historical objects, displayed on a rotating basis.

A membership organization, the Plainsboro Historical Society operates the Plainsboro Museum located in the Wicoff House and conducts other activities in line with its mission, including oral history interviews, care of the Bethel Cemetery, educational programs, and a collection of historical items.

The Lawrence Historical Society was formed as a non-partisan non-profit organization to preserve and promote the history of Lawrence Township. Among the Society's historical sites are the 1761 Brearley House, owned by the Township of Lawrence, and the 1830 Port Mercer Canal House, owned by the State of New Jersey.

Thomas Clarke House is a furnished Quaker farmhouse, built in 1770, and used as a hospital following the battle on January 3, 1777. American General Hugh Mercer died here of wounds suffered in the engagement. The house contains period furniture and Revolutionary War exhibits.

Official residence of the Governor of New Jersey. Guided tours of Drumthwacket, taking approximately 45 minutes, include the six public rooms that the Governor of New Jersey uses for meetings and receptions. The tour showcases New Jersey's cultural heritage, including art, history, architecture and antiques.

Completed in 1756, Nassau Hall was the largest academic structure in the thirteen colonies. In 1783 the Hall served as Capital of the United States for six months. The Faculty room, a replica of the British House of commons, serves as a portrait gallery.
