Victoria, wood, 48"in diameter 72" in height, 2005

I am drawn to Victorian design and its beauty often terrifies me. I remember my mother calling the disorganized mess of our home Victorian clutter. I can’t stop the horror vacui. Life is an awe-full void, pulling us feet first towards death while our hearts, hands and eyes face outward, frantically trying to structure, consume, and make sense of everything we can on our way down. Hope and futility are trying to have a conversation while order and entropy chase each other around the dinner table howling, but it’s all going to be o.k.
