Maps within maps, systems within systems, structures within structures: I am fascinated by the multiple layers that exist within any formation. These layers can be intentional, but they are often unexpected, incidental results. My installations and wall sculptures investigate the creation of multiple unintentional structures from a single intended one. By making a construction apparatus or system as important as the form, I draw attention to what is usually hidden or ignored. My work calls into question our struggle to understand what is becoming an increasingly fragmented world.
