The ISC established the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award program in 1994 to recognize deserving sculpture students and to encourage their continued commitment to the field of sculpture.
The jurors for the 2008 award include Mary Ceruti, Director The Sculpture Center, Long Island, New
York; Robert Roesch, Chair of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Art, Philadelphia, PA; and Dennis
Oppenheim, sculptor, New York.
ELIGIBILITY
Nominating Institutions:
Educational institutions with current ISC University Memberships are eligible to submit up to three (3) student nominations. If you need to join or renew as a University Member, please fill out the University Membership Form and return by mail with payment and student nominations, or you can renew or join online by clicking here. There are no additional fees to participate in the Student Awards Program. Student Nominees: Nominees must be students working towards a BA, BFA, MFA or certificate from an established and reputable art school. The ISC reserves the right to decline entries from schools deemed inappropriate for this program.

Inclusion in the Fall/Winter 2008/09 Exhibition at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey.
A photograph of their work and a brief biography (including the name of the faculty sponsor and the nominating institution) published in Sculpture magazine and the ISCs website.
A chance to win a Residency in Switzerland to study with world-renowned sculptor Heinz Aeschlimann.
A one-year ISC membership, which includes subscriptions to both Sculpture magazine and the ISC members-only supplement Insider, which includes job listings, calls for artists and other opportunities for sculptors, as well as On Record, which includes announcements of members accomplishments.
A color catalogue published by Grounds For Sculpture of the award winning sculptures.

Educational institutions of awardees will receive the following:
Recognition in Sculpture magazine in conjunction with the student awardee's art work and biographical information.
Invitation to spotlight the institutions program(s) on the ISCs website, www.sculpture.org, which receives over 92,000 hits a day.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE *Nominating Institutions must complete a nomination form before students can apply.*
Faculty Sponsors: Faculty Sponsors must fill out a Student Nomination Form and submit up to three (3) nominees per school by March 28, 2008. Then, each student must sign up online and upload up to five images of work(s) as well as provide a current resume (not to exceed 1 page) and artist statement (not to exceed 1 page) by April 18, 2008.
Student Nominees: Students must include their School/University's ISC membership number on their submission form. Each student nominated must complete the Online Student Submission Form and submit by April 18, 2008.

Submissions to the Student Awards competition are completed digitally. Students must submit their work(s) online.
HIGHER RESOLUTION IMAGES NEED TO BE AVAILABLE:
Winners will have to submit 300 dpi images for publication.
ALL SELECTED ARTWORK MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR EXHIBITION:
The winning sculpture must be available for exhibition. There will be no substitutions.
Note:
All materials representing awardees work will be retained by the ISC archives.
Works submitted by nominated students must be completed and not in developmental stages.
Site specific installations must be adaptable to Ground For Sculpture's gallery space.
Artwork must be able to endure a 7 month long exhibition with no maintenence requirements.
Artwork height limitation of 10 feet.
