BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The ISC Board of Trustees is a volunteer body of (up to) 36 individuals who are responsible for establishing priorities, setting policy, and ensuring the financial health of the organization. The ISC Board maintains a balance of working sculptors and patrons/supporters of sculpture.

Jack Becker
Arts Administrator

Jack F. Becker, Ph.D. is the Executive Director & CEO of Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. Becker earned his Bachelor of Art in art history at Carleton College in Minnesota; his Master of Art in art history and Ph.D. in American art at the University of Delaware; and his Master of Business Administration at the University of Michigan.


John Clement
Artist
Brooklyn , NY

John Clement is an internationally recognized sculptor, known for his playful large-scale steel installations. After receiving a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, Clement studied at New York’s School of Visual Arts before moving on to work with Marc di Suvero and John Henry.


Dana Martin Davis

Having participated in building museums through structural steel fabrication, Dana Martin Davis focuses on collaborative efforts bringing the work of living artists to a broader public. A 2010 Spirit Award recipient in Charlotte NC, Dana is a current board member of the Metal Museum, Memphis TN.

Robert Duncan is chairman emeritus of ISC. Together with his wife, Karen, the Duncans share their extensive contemporary arts and crafts collection through loans, tours and numerous articles in national press publications.
Carole Feuerman

Carole A. Feuerman is recognized as one of the world’s most renowned hyperrealist sculptors. She sculpts and paints monumental, life-size, and miniature works in bronze, resin and marble. She is best known for her large outdoor painted bronze figurative pieces with water themes.

Carla Hanzal
Vice President of Public Art - Arts & Science Council

Carla Hanzal has 25 years of experience working with contemporary artists, arts organizations and stakeholders to commission works of art and produce exhibitions. Hanzal now leads the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Art Program, which administers the public art ordinance, providing up to one percent of construction costs for art initiatives.

John Henry is known worldwide for his large-scale public works of art. His works are included in major museum, corporate, public, and private collections worldwide. He holds leadership positions on numerous boards of acts organizations.

Peter Hobart was Chair of the ISC Board of Trustees for six years. He is also an international entrepreneur, Hobart Brother’s former vice president for international business, and a board member of the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology.

Seward Johnson

Recognized as one of America’s foremost realists working in sculpture, Seward Johnson has exhibited extensively in the US and overseas, inclusive of a solo exhibition at the Corcoran in Washington, DC, the Venice Biennale, and in the cities of Rome, Berlin, Madrid, Hannover, Milan, Lisbon, Dallas, Chicago among others,
Ree Kaneko

Marc LeBaron is Chairman and CEO of Lincoln Industries in Lincoln Nebraska, one of the nation’s largest and most diverse metal finishing companies. He is an art collector and has also held leadership positions in many organizations.

Eugene Lemay

Eugene Lemay is an artist, businessman, and art institution director. Eugene’s artistic work, primarily composed of large digital abstracts, is influenced equally by his years of service in the Israeli army and his fascination with minimalism, spurred by a visit to a Robert Ryman retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in 1993.

Frank Sippel

Fisher Stolz

Fisher Stolz is a sculptor creating work in stainless steel, cast metals and carved stone. Frequently these materials are used in combination to make sculptures that range from interior pieces through large-scale public works.
Elden Teft
Founder
Elden Tefft founded the sculpture program at the University of Kansas where he taught for 40 years. During his tenure he built two bronze foundries at the University and consulted and built many additional foundries throughout the world. In 1960, Elden started the International Sculpture Conferences and Center which became the world's largest association of sculptors.
George Tobolowsky

George Tobolowsky is a professional sculptor working out of Mountain Springs, Texas. His works are abstract metal sculptures made from steel and stainless steel “found objects” like bulky industrial metal castoffs scoured from scrap yards and fabrication plants.

Robert Vogele founded VSA Partners, an internationally recognized design firm. He was for five years a member of the ISC Board of Trustees, serving as Treasurer and Chair. Robert is also a prominent collector of sculpture and folk art.

OFFICE LOCATIONS

Hamilton Offices
The Hamilton offices house most of the ISC staff and is where the administrative functions of the organization happens. Our membership, events, web, and advertising departments are here.
Washington DC Offices
The Washington DC offices house the entire Sculpture magazine staff: the editor, managing editor and editorial assistant.
Mana Contemporary Offices
At Mana Contemporary we have programming/gallery space and residency programs. This office is not always staffed but is used for programming. Residencies are part of the Mana BSMT residency program.
