I manipulate
found objects, then recombine them with my own system of ball and
socket joints. Thus, a paintbrush snaps onto a carved bird attached
to a vacuum cleaner stuck to a splintered chair. I invest these materials
with a new vitality by building them into massive agglomerations that
grow within a given space. As I form the structure, it takes on a
life of its own in a constant battle between control and chaos.
Agglomeration,
2004
