My dress series
makes light of clothing, rendering it dangerous or impractical. The
tar paper is stiff and toxic, the tissue paper is delicate and transparent,
and the nylon is constrictive and dangerous with its metal pins. It
is human nature to prejudge others by what they are wearing. I wanted
to touch on this ridiculous conformity, exploring how when we are
all the same, we are trapped.
