BACKGROUND

The International Sculpture Center (ISC) advances the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique, vital contribution to society. The ISC seeks to expand public understanding of sculpture internationally, demonstrate the power of sculpture to educate, effect social change, engage artists and arts professionals in a dialogue to advance the art form, and promote a supportive environment for sculpture and sculptors.

The ISC is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization founded in 1960. Members include sculptors, collectors, arts professionals and anyone with an interest in and commitment to the field of sculpture. In addition to its extensive member benefits and services, the ISC’s programs include the International Sculpture Conferences, co-sponsored conferences, Sculpture magazine, Insider newsletter (professional employment, commissions and exhibition opportunities for sculptors, and On Record (announcements of members’ accomplishments), education and recognition programs and the award-winning Website, www.sculpture.org

The ISC established the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award program in 1994 to recognize deserving sculpture students and to encourage their continued commitment to the field of sculpture.
