Connells Bay Sculpture Park is a private property on Waiheke
Island purchased by John and Jo Gow in 1993. Their vision has been to
bring art and nature together by planting out large areas of native trees
and creating special spaces for New Zealand contemporary sculpture.
The growing collection includes 17 site specific and purchased
sculptures in concrete, ceramic, bronze, steel, aluminium and wood. The
collection includes works by Chris Booth, Neil Dawson, Paul Dibble, Fatu
Feuu, Christine Hellyar, Virginia King, Jeff Thomson and Richard
Thompson. New works are being added each year.
The 90 minute walk requires sensible shoes and is on a 2km
track through bush and over farmland with commanding views over Aucklands
Hauraki Gulf.
Self catered guest accommodation is available just meters
from the beach on their 60 acre coastal property
