The Krasl Art Center is a nonprofit fine arts facility located
in Southwest Michigan. The Krasl offers a wide range of educational programs
for both children and adults. Designed to enhance knowledge and understanding
of art in its many forms, these programs include art instruction and hands-on
activities, summer camp, workshops, lectures, concerts and videos. Art
education resources for elementary schools are also available. Devoted
exclusively to sculpture, the Krasl permanent collection focuses on outdoor
works by prominent sculptors. The Krasl maintains a full calendar of exhibitions
featuring professional, high quality visual arts in a wide variety of
media. Four Krasl galleries and surrounding exterior exhibit traditional
fine arts, sculpture, contemporary works, folk arts and crafts featuring
artists of both local and national reputation. We are proud to serve Southwest
Michigan as a sculpture advocate by encouraging the placement of outdoor
sculpture in public and private spaces. Also working with Save Outdoor
Sculpture! (SOS!), a project of the National Museum of American Art, the
Smithsonian Institute and the national institute for the conservation
of cultural property, the Krasl has played an important role in documenting
and finding funds to restore and conserve sculpture in Southwest Michigan.
