The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park, located outdoors on the
750 acre campus of Governors State University some 30 miles south of Chicago,
is run by the university's nonprofit Foundation.
The Foundation owns more than half of the 21 works in the
park; three site-specific pieces were deeded over to the university, and
six sculptures are on extended loan. Although there had been temporary
exhibits and a one-man show in the past, budgetary constraints preclude
that at this time.
The majority of the collection can be viewed in front of
GSU's main campus building and by following a grassy path at the rear.
Each piece occupies its own space, without the distraction of other works
nearby.
