If I had to describe my true vocation in life, I would definitely
answer my love for children! How did I demonstrate it…by giving them a
chance to play with art.
Color, shape, height, movement, shade invite children to
discover new games where everything can be touched and known with absolute
freedom. Up and down, in and out give the opportunity to the child of
becoming an explorer, a reveler, and adventurer an artist. It is fuel
for his/her creativity.
Children love to use their imagination while they play.
If they could be allowed to play with art in open air museums, they would
learn so much by themselves. By using geometrical figures I design arrangements
especially for the young ones. Sculptures become sandboxes, spaces to
fit things, steps to climb, areas to jump, round and plane surfaces that
suggest episodes and momentum in a child’s dream.
The two sculpture shown in the photographs were set initially
in a private garden, before they were sold for housing projects.
"Honeycomb" built with eight hexagons of 1.20
Mts. Height each one, joint by bar and set over sand. Children can walk
from one hexagon to the next one through the bar, they can look at the
clouds go by when they raise their heads. They can use them for climbing,
or as their private club.
"Cubes" built with three hollow cubes of 2.20
Mts height each one. Colors differ according to the orientation of the
sculpture; yellow for sunrise and red for sunset, purple for north and
green for south. Shade is part of the game, in and out, swinging, hanging,
climbing or just staying inside.
