The Open Museum of Israeli Art is located in the Tefen Industrial
Park, which nestles in the hills of the Western Galilee. The museum’s
speciality lies in its aim to provide a platform for all trends and schools
of Israeli art, each of which represents a milestone in Israeli culture.
The Park’s unique setting amongst industrial plants
materializes the vision of it’s founder, Stef Wertheimer, of building
a model park which fosters creative activity in industry, art, education,
culture and nature in a non-profitable organization.
The sculpture garden, 29 acres in size, the largest
section in the Open Museum, is under the open skies. The museum houses
notable pieces of art from the 1920s till today.
The park also includes an indoor gallery, which hosts
temporary painting and sculpture exhibitions.
The indoor museum is also a home to two superb permanent
exhibitions: A unique car collection dating back to the beginning of the
20th century and an exhibition of the museum for German-Speaking
Jewry.
