It is very easy to get around London with Public Transportation.

London Underground- Tube

The Tube is London’s subway system consisting of eleven lines providing transportation throughout the city. Fares range from £4.60 to £17.50.

You may also purchase an Oyster card which is a discounted, rechargeable card used on public transportation in London.  It can be used for the London Underground (the Tube), buses, Docklands Light Railway, trams, and other transportation services.  For more information about the Oyster cards, please click here.

London Buses

London Buses is one of the largest urban bus networks in the world providing transportation throughout all boroughs of London with both day and night services. Bus fares are £2.00.

London Taxi

London taxi service is another optimal way to travel throughout London. Taxis can either be booked in advance or hailed on the street. The minimum fare rate is £2.20 with the final fare depending on time of day, miles traveled, and taxi speed.


Dial-a-Ride is a door-to-door transport service for disabled people who can't use buses, trains or the Tube. 

London River Services

If you are traveling along the River Thames, there are ferry boat services up and down the river with several stops along the way. Fares run between £3.00 - £5.00.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is a primarily above ground rail system that has forty stations throughout the city stopping along some of London’s busiest routes. Fares run between £1.50 - £4.00.

Mini-Cabs and Limousine Services

There is also the option of hiring a car service such as a limousine or mini-cab. Such services must be booked in advance through a licensed operator.

London Tramlink

All access to trams is step-free. There is no need to use ramps or any other special features to board. Additionally, all tram travel is free for wheelchair users, irrespective of whether or not they hold a Freedom Pass.
