I’m talking about an everyday thing, a mundane
thing…then it’s lost. Small pauses spawn the creation
of my works, which I have distilled down to “portable fantasy landscapes.” The works and
their attached stories embody brief moments of
wonderment, times when I’m not paying attention,
drifting away to conjure imaginary scenarios.
These works are my own version of show and
tell, often housed in suitcases, perched on
shelves, or built on castors. They are my small
curiosity containers, objects that are specific
sites, creating a romantic mythology of my
ephemeral imagination.
