Violent imagery is the norm, so much so that we
often turn a blind eye and miss the trickledown
effect. My current body of work makes guns,
artillery, and other weaponry into pillows and
plush playthings. These weapons are meant to be
handled. Through playful interaction, one realizes
the darker side of these cuddly plush weapons. I
want viewers to understand how we once looked
at the world around us. We need to ask why, as
we once did as children. Most importantly, I want
viewers to realize the social implications of violence
and where it starts.
