My work focuses on modern mythologies and how they compare to historical myths—they always seem to carry a cautionary tale, the linguistic equivalent of a memento mori. My installations are not direct depictions of actual events, but invented narratives explaining why I believe the myth occurred. In a sense, I am presenting the underlying mystery as well as explaining it. I want to transport viewers to the site of the myth, making it a reality. In this psychological environment, the viewer becomes part of the work and perpetuates the myth.
