My recent sculptures are supposed prototypes of twenty-first century ritual objects intended for some hypothetical cultural rite. I have in mind the ancient Egyptian accommodations for the afterlife, extrapolated to address the needs of the contemporary American psyche.
I use paper and Fome-cor to fashion trompe l’oeil renditions of real and imagined utilities, tools, and furnishings, some of which possess unexpected functionality
