My recent work investigates the moral and ethical implications of aesthetics and how they influence us. After slip casting the shells of snapping turtles and hermit crabs, I visually and physically manipulate them through a series of kiln firings. While the individual elements in Delftware 2009 resemble the traditional (and overly familiar) mass-produced blue and white pottery, they produce new questions and meanings.
