My work explores daily routines as well as those moments when we stand outside of expected identity, when we reveal, connect, and relate. I record the difficulties of negotiating roles and beliefs in order to pull significance out of normalcy. Sound/video recording reveals aspects of identity often limited by language. Manipulating and re-contextualization call attention to the similarities of our experiences and the complexities that come with self-awareness.
