Artist Statement
The root of my work is homelessness. I explore vagrancy, autonomy, and longing using elements of architecture: bridges speak of traversing obstacles and towers provide protection and isolation. Fabric acts as a mirror for the human spirit. We speak of the fabric of life, implying that experiences make up the warp and weft of our identity. In my work, fabric speaks of humanity—the fragility of the human body, as well as the strength of the human spirit.
