Artist Statement

My work investigates violence, mostly constructed or controlled violence. At the same time, I’m interested in the infinite and the inevitable, which, in my mind, are linked to a violent act—throwing a wrench into a machine and bringing it to a halt. My machines always have an element that will self-destruct. They are playful, yet dangerous. I like to see them as elegant, subtle mixes of humor, sex, and violence.
