Artist Statement

My photographed, site-specific installations are based on the rug, which signifies cleanliness and protection, but my rugs are created from soil and placed outside. Similar to mandalas, these rugs cannot be sold and are destroyed at the end of their installation. They exist only as documentary photographs, reminding viewers of the fragility of domestic life.
