Horse with Support, 60" x 35" x 72", Fabric, 2005.

My work uses animals to explore the nature of killing and death-themes that also apply to humans. Recently I have focused on the experiences of horses and deer before death. Sometimes I imagine the moment before death to be an explosion of feeling, as all the nerves shoot electricity and blood rushes through the body one last time. By exploring the struggles these animals have with their bodies, I will get closer to the true narrative I am pursuing. To view Rachel Frank's Portfolio, click here.
