From
the Editor
Last spring, Sculpture
began an experiment: to publish in two parallel forums. As you can see,
the contents page of this issue not only lists articles on contemporary
sculpture that appear in the printed pages of the magazine, it also lists
articles that appear in digital form in the Sculpture pages of www.sculpture.org.
This twin format of overlapping but not identical content will enable
us to cover more artists and institutions than we can fit into the print
edition alone, and we would appreciate hearing what you think of our bifurcated
format (send your thoughts and ideas to glenn@sculpture.net.
In virtual form this month, the magazine contains Jane Ingram Allens
feature article on contemporary sculptors use of mirrors and other
reflective surfaces, as well as parallel reports on Art Basel and Art
Basel Miami Beach and a review of the recent Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition.
In the print edition are features on some of the most prominent artists
of recent years: Isaac Witkin, Miroslaw Balka, Niki de Saint Phalle, and
Eduardo Paolozzi, as well as articles and reviews on more than 20 other
vital and interesting sculptors, exhibitions, and organizations.
