December is a good time to pause and reflect on a year of success at the International Sculpture Center. It was a year when we expanded our international outreach, increased our support of young sculptors, and inspired awareness of sculpture in many positive ways.
This month brings an end to 2011, but at the ISC that means the door is opening to another exciting year. We have succeeded because we are always looking to the future, identifying how we can transform our organization into a stronger, more dynamic institution.
This is also the time of year when we hold our annual appeal. It is exciting to know that this yearís appeal focuses on the execution of year three of the ISCís five-year plan and funding the great ideas we have for supporting sculpture and sculptors.
This coming year is full of new programs and events that will enrich the lives of our members and readers. We will continue to fulfill our mission to:
Expand public understanding and appreciation of sculpture internationally;
Demonstrate the power of sculpture to educate and effect social change;
Engage artists and arts professionals in a dialogue to advance the art form;
Promote a supportive environment for sculpture and sculptors.
When you invest in the future of the ISC, you play a significant role in continuing the progress we have made and ensuring that we can move forward and accomplish great new things by expanding our opportunities for exciting programs.
We ask that you share your passion for sculpture and the success of the ISC, joining your fellow members and subscribers in supporting our endeavors. And while it is greatly appreciated when you participate with your checkbook, remember that you also support the sculpture community when you complete an ISC survey, attend an ISC-sponsored event, or provide feedback to our staff and Board members. With your support, the months ahead will give us the opportunity to add great value to the world of sculpture.
On behalf of the staff and Board, I would like to wish you all a great holiday season.
