As we reach the end of the year here at the ISC, I would like to show my appreciation for the Trustees who are leaving the Board. They have spent many years supporting the organization, lending their time, talent, and advice while supporting the ISC financially and through their guidance and vision.
I would like to thank departing Board member Gertrud Kohler-Aeschlimann, who has completed her term of nine years. Gertrud served as the Chair of the International Affairs Committee, and she has provided incredible opportunities for young students with the artist residency program that she runs with her husband, Heinz, in Switzerland at art-st-urban. George Neubert, who has also completed a full term, has been an incredible resource for the ISC over the past nine years. George is the Director of the Flatwater Folk Art Museum in Brownville, Nebraska, which opened to the public in October 2014.
I have spent 10 great years working with Gertrud and George, and I am very happy that they will both continue to be involved with the ISC. In addition, Gertrud and Heinz will still provide opportunities for students with their residency.
I would also like to welcome six new members to the ISC Board of Trustees and to congratulate J. Seward Johnson on being elected Chairman Emeritus of the ISC. You will find more details about the ISC Board on p. 80 of this issue.
