International Sculpture Day

On Monday, April 24, 2017 the world will join in celebration of sculpture during the 3rd annual International Sculpture Day, or IS Day.

International Sculpture Day is a celebration event held worldwide on or around April 24th to further the ISC’s mission of advancing the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique, vital contribution to society. It is a day to create a unified community championing sculpture. With hundreds of artists, organizations and institutions in over 20 countries expected to celebrate the day in 2017 with open studios, unveiling public sculptures, sculpture scavenger hunts, pop up exhibitions, demonstrations, iron pours, plus much more. ISC ISDay Events

The ISC will be at Artexpo this year for ISDay.

Along with a booth (#3), the ISC will be hosting a talk with Glenn Harper, editor of Sculpture magazine about "Writing Sculpture..." Monday, April 24th 11:00-12:00pm in the Education Pavilion.

A panel discussion with Sculpture magazine’s editor Glenn harper along with Joyce Beckenstein & Robert C. Morgan, both contributors to Sculpture Magazine. This panel will be held in celebration of ISC’s International Sculpture Day, held annually on April 24th. The writers will give you an inside look on what it means to write about and for sculpture.

Glenn Harper is the editor of Sculpture magazine, and formerly editor of Art Papers.

Robert C. Morgan holds an MFA in Sculpture and a Ph.D. in Art History. Author of several books and monographs in many languages, Morgan functions as a scholar, artist, art critic, and Contributing Editor to Sculpture Magazine.

Joyce Beckenstein is a writer living in New York and a contributing to Sculpture Magazine
