Thank you to everyone who attended International Sculpture Day at Mana Contemporary on Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Sculpture enthusiasts gathered at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, NJ for an exciting afternoon of programming for the second annual International Sculpture Day. The exhibition opening, Wake the Town and Tell the People, featured work by eighteen emerging artists working across a dynamic range of materials, from porcelain to plywood and bronze to balloons. 2015 Student Award winner Jamezie invited guests to consider individuality and gender by allowing participants to print imagery on their skin in a performance piece titled ÖBut Will the People Listen?
Other exhibitions on view included The Tíang Horse: Anthony Quinn, which highlights a number of sculptures by Anthony Quinn, and Ben Keating: The Piece of Her Thatís Missing. Artists at Mana generously opened their studios, and guests had the chance to see an aluminum demonstration at the Keating Foundry, located on Manaís campus.
We would like to give a special thank you to Mana Contemporary for collaborating with us on this event. Wake the Town and Tell the People will be on view through August 15, 2016.
