My interest in sculpture began while I was in the Navy during W.W.II. I traveled extensively in the Orient and became fascinated with the sculpture works that I discovered. I was especially impressed with the non-representational - i.e. pure form, the manipulation of mass and space. I began developing my own style of working with mass and space during the 1950s and have been refining the process since then and the refinement continues. My earlier works were all done in limited editions but in recent years I have moved away from the production of editions and have focused on unique-one of a kind- works.
I have a Masters degree with emphasis in Psychology and have utilized the concepts in the development of these sculptural forms. These sculptured works are beautiful examples of the manipulation of mass and space and have thought provoking qualities that stimulate the thinking process.
This Sculptor is 70 years old, has been creating beautiful interactions of mass and space for 50 years and 30 of those years have included the thought provoking psychological aspects. Forty additional works are in the late stages of development.
These sculpture works are cast in bronze, have individual patinas, are mounted on marble and are sold as "One of a kind". They are available from the Sculptor.
Each of these sculpture works can be seen and purchased by contacting the Sculptor at E-Mail: phbabb@q.com or call 1-503-688-3955 It is a definite plus to have a Babbitt sculpture on your desk.
