Artist Statement
My sculptures aim at expressing the change and power of the world around us. Their goal is to represent the interaction between human beings and our surroundings in an original way. The work has inner meaning-the possibility of God, the connection between living things, and the isolation and expansion of humanity. The pieces also reflect personal experiences by focusing on singular elements of our visual world.
The field sculptures of livestock or people stand vertically, and they are viewed from "above." The position of the observer is detached, giving an impartial view of the underlying events changing the landscape. Human expansion across the environment is full force, but the result remains peaceful in appearance. Metal landscapes are abstract reflections of landscapes.
