ARTIST’S STATEMENT

• Reminiscent of Nature these sculptures represent the broken cliff faces and rock formations exposed through natural processes. The blocks, a metamorphosis of nature and man, are cut and fit together, their elements intersect and impede each others physical space, creating the illusion of growth originating from a single block. Color and texture help to define the forms while the introduction of a negative space or opening into the work creates a flow of energy through the composition that aides in captivating the viewer.
