My public sculptures address the social use of the place where they are and tell people something about the natural or cultural history of that place. Many of my public sculptures use masonry and earth forms for outdoor sites. Recent projects use neon or stained glass for interior spaces. In the last ten years I have built projects for public and private agencies including the Ohio Arts Council, New Mexico Arts, and the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
I have also joined design team projects with architects, landscape architects, engineers and planners including streetscape projects in Phoenix, Arizona and Pompano Beach, Florida and the renovation of a parkland lake in
Kansas City, Missouri .
In addition to my public work, I have a body of studio work. The subject of some of these is landscape and of others the figure. I have exhibited in New York and elsewhere in the United States and in Kyoto and Tokyo in Japan. An article in Leonardo compares my landscape sculptures with cell-structure studies.
