Description:
Isaac Duncan III, a Brooklyn, New York native and Afro-Cuban descendant, received his BFA from the University of Notre Dame, certification of secondary art education from St. Mary's College and MFA from the University of Kentucky.
Duncan has taught in primary, secondary and higher education over the past 10 years. He has held artist-in-residencies in Michigan, Illinois, and Tennessee. Along with completing private and public commissions, he has assisted other notable artist in the completion or installation of their projects; Richard Hunt, El Anatusi, Chakaia Booker, to name the least.
Isaac was employed by John Henry Sculptor, Inc., for three years, where he was the crew supervisor, heavy equipment operator and assistant. In mid-2008, Duncan has opened his own studio, Duncan Sculpture and Services in Chattanooga, TN.
