Nationally exhibited sculptor and installation artist Dana Filibert received a B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA and M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Her work invokes humor, creating sculpture that plays with contradictions of attraction and repulsion. Pieces consist primarily of painted sculpture formed using metal, foam and found objects.
Dana Filibert is in the permanent collection of Daimler Chrysler. She is the recipient of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Full Fellowship Award for a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT. Her work has been exhibited across the United States and in Toronto, Canada. Recent exhibitions include the Governor's Island Art Fair in NYC, Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood, Chesterwood Estate and Museum in Stockbridge, MA and Congested Highway, a Show of Works by Dana Filibert at Brown University’s Sarah Doyle Gallery in Providence, RI.
Currently on view at the Albany International Airport in Albany, NY is Dana’s interior and exterior site-specific installation ‘Flight of Fancy’.
