Chris Morrey lives with his family in Columbia, Missouri. He completed his MFA in sculpture at the University of Missouri in 2009. Before moving to Columbia, Chris lived for eight years in Tucson, Arizona, where he maintained a series of studios, worked as an electrician, and served on and subsequently chaired the board of directors for Dinnerware Contemporary Arts, one of the oldest cooperative galleries in the United States. He has also worked in Austin, Flagstaff and Chicago after completing his BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute in 1990. He has been obsessed with animals, dogs and birds in particular, since he was young, and volunteered in Tucson as an assistant wildlife rehabilitator. He has also worked as a restorer, concrete finisher and held a license as an electrician.
