James Lentz lives near Providence, RI and received his B.F.A from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a focus on sculpture. He is a woodworker, metalworker and mold-maker.
Using cast iron as an artistic medium he utilizes the systematic and disciplined attributes of pattern-making with wood, mold-making on multiple levels, wax chasing and finally, metal working for the determined presentation. He also works with most available materials including steel, bronze, plastics, foam, glass, etc.
