Raised in Texas, Charles earned a BS in Zoology while also studying the arts.  He moved to Houston for professional training in healthcare and also studied at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts School of Art.  After moving to San Francisco he continued his explorations in bronze and mixed-media sculpture, and other media including printmaking, painting and intaglio collages.
