The conception of my current works of sculpture and installation art has consistently been stimulated by domestic life. I am drawn to the idea of the home as a microcosm for its ability to connect universally and simultaneously over time. Powerfully dense icons such as the egg, the pair of scissors, red thread, and the seven sided home are intentionally embedded as a starting place for contemplation. The corresponding materials and objects then initiate an exchange that entertains non-linear narratives and facilitate subjective interpretations. Occasionally, meaning is assisted by the use of text either inclusively or in the form of a title.

            Visual and conceptual aesthetic hold equal hierarchy. Works possess beauty in repetition and form but often present potential threat in implied actions. A major theme of the domestic home is supported by time invested processes such as crochet, embroidery, and tatting, as well as casting acrylic and metals. Materials of both old and new create a timeless relevancy that reflects on matters such as mortality, possession, and communal relationships.
