I make freestanding and wall-mounted sculpture, primarily of steel. Some pieces have movement. Classic aesthetic concerns of proportion, composition and balance are crucial to me, always serving intense emotional imagery. Shapes and colors evoke memories of imaginary places with which I have powerful associations. My constructions also reflect mathematics and physics concepts such as tensegrity, periodic motion and projective geometry. For me, these are metaphors for a deep reality underlying the surface of the world we see and are also interesting and fun.
