I have a great reverence and love for the human figure as a subject and as an expressive tool in art. For me, the realistically sculpted figure has an emotional immediacy, a directness of expression.  My goal when making a figure sculpture is to portray a moment of high emotional involvement or intensity -- I try to get the most out of the sculptural moment. This does not mean I am after an exaggerated emotionalism. A quiet intensity can make a powerful statement.

This website listing invites inquiries from organizations or individuals who need to commission sculpture to celebrate or commemorate; an historically significant event, an individual (portrait), or to interpret a religious theme. I have worked at all scales, figurine to monumental. I model my sculpture in clay for casting into bronze or other durable material for public and or private display.

Commissioned Work
My most recent public sculpture is "The Bell Keepers", located in Alameda, New Mexico. It depicts a Spanish Colonial-era Padre and citizen of a Southwestern town rescuing the bell from a flooded adobe church. I also created the over-life-size portrait figure of the late Rhode Island Senator, John H. Chafee, installed at Colt State Park, Bristol, RI.  My over-life-size figure of "The Patriot", an American Revolutionary Minuteman carrying The Bedford Flag into the battle at the Concord Bridge, is installed in the town of Bedford, Massachusetts. I've created a wide range of sculpture for public organizations, businesses, as well as for individuals.

My early sculpture study took place at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts (Old Lyme, CT) and subsequently received my MFA in sculpture at the Academy of Art University (San Francisco, CA).
